Kristie S. Anseth
Kristi S. Anseth (1968) conducts pioneering research at the interface between biology and engineering—for example, understanding the complex series of biochemical reactions that assemble structures around cells to form, maintain, and/or repair biological tissues. She designs new biomaterials for applications in regenerative medicine and drug delivery. At 40, Anseth was the youngest member elected to the National Academy of Engineering and the National Academy of Medicine. A few years later, she was also elected to the National Academy of Sciences.
